Gummy Bear Osmosis

 Aim:

I want to find out what happens to Gummy Bears when we put them into different solutions.

Prediction:

I predict they are either going to grow or have their colour fade slowly.

Method:

Equipment:

  • Gummy Bears ( 4x ) of the same colour.
  • Petri dishes ( 2x .)
  • Paper towels ( 2x.)
  • Marker, vivid pen.
  • Water, sugar water, salt water ( 3x solutions.)
  • Electronic balance.
  • Beaker
  • Measuring Cylinder.
  • Safety googles

Instructions:

  1. Gather all Equipment.
  2. Put on your safety glasses.
  3. Using the marker pen, write the name of the condition on the Petri dish. DRY, WATER,  SALTWATER, SUGAR WATER.
  4.  Weigh the Gummy Bear and write the weight on the Petri Dish.
  5. Writhe your name on the paper towel.
  6. Measure 40ml of the solution and pour into the Petri dish

I didnt take a photo but the gummy bear should be its normal size and then after a few days it should be a different shape, look, size, touch
